Mt. Biking in Whistler, BC August 2014

                               Summer Fun In Whistler

Fun with Bikes

My father extended an invite to join him for a week of mountain biking on the trails at Whistler.  He has done this trip a few times already.  There is a lot of fun to be had in a father-daughter mountain biking trip.

After an 8 hour drive we arrived at Whistler Village and met up with my father's friend Sam.  The place was crowded with people.  It was the end of the Crankworks week-long mountain biking event.  Many extremely skilled riders were all over the place. We watched one race and were in awe of the skill.

We lucked out with fantastic dry weather the entire week, so we were able to have good rides every day.

My father and Sam were great tour guides and showed me all of their favorite trails.
These were some of my favorites.

We also explored a few new ones.

Here is a slide show to give you a sample of the trails we were riding.

Mountain Biking at Whistler

I'm totally impressed by the amount of trails that are in the area.  They also have a great variety for all skill levels.  There is something for everyone.   I could have stayed another week just exploring and riding new trails.  The outlying communities are adding more and more trails to ride.  I'd definitely go back again.

On the drive home we stopped at Squamish and did a hike that my sister recommended.  It was great!  It was short but steep.  At the top there was a bit of a scramble over granite with chains and ladders in place to help you out.  FUN!  The view at the top was breathtaking.
