Snake River Rafting Trip Oregon/Idaho July 4th Launch

Jonathan and I took off the Selway, traveled to McCall to resort gear and then drove late into the night to the Snake River.  We had a permit to launch the next morning.  We met up with Jim who drove from Portland and Steve who made the journey up from California.  The water on this trip was much different than the previous trip and it took an adjustment to navigate the higher flow.  Because this river is dam release it was fluctuating between 8,500 to 16,500 cfs.  The four of us spent 5 days traveling 79 miles from Hells Canyon Dam to Heller Bar.  Our group spent time hiking, scouting rapids, exploring mines and old ranches, fishing, watching sheep, watching evening primroses open up and enjoying the scenery.
